Auckland Finnish Society was set up in 1977.
We are active in celebrating the traditional Finnish annual events,
there is a folk dance group that performs at events in Finnish national costume,
there have also been weekends away and walks.
Until recently a Finnish radio programme was broadcast.
Language classes have been set up from time to time.
A regular pesäpallo game runs which has
proven to be very popular.
NZ aspires to be culturally sensitive and so Finns co-exist easily
in such a multicultural community.
